Destination Wedding Planners Congress - Gala Dinner - Atlantis The Palm
Marking the final night of the 6th Annual DWP Congress, the crème de la creme of wedding connoisseurs from around the globe convened for the Gala dinner at Asateer, Atlantis The Palm Jumeriah. Sourcing spectacular acts from the MENA region and Europe, La Clé Entertainment showcased an evening filled with world-class performances against a spectacular crystal themed backdrop beautifully orchestrated by renowned UAE wedding planner, Ali Bakhtiar Designs.
Move over Charlie Chaplin, mirror men (and women) are the finest of them all! We might be bias but there is something super intriguing about mirror artists greeting guests at an event. Just like walking human disco balls the costumes were made of acrylic mirrors to give the illusion of real mirrors as they randomly mingled with guests. Delegates were also greeted by a roaming Saxophonist and violinist dressed in Swarovski crystal costumes and instruments keeping in theme with the crystal theme design.
As guests entered the gala dinner they were struck by four poised podium artists around the arena each representing Earth, Wind, Water and Fire. Under La Cle’s artistic direction and meticulous avant-garde fashion and makeup executed by Quinceno Art, the dramatic element characters came to life presenting guests with a whimsical and sultry performance setting the mood for the evening.
The ever so glam performers adorned photos, and gracefully ushered guests through spaces beautifying the evening with their enchanting presence. Can you imagine these at your ultimate wedding?
Mohammed Hamami, conductor of the Sharq Orchestra and acclaimed sand Artist Shayma Al Mugairi produced a compelling performance that gave guests time to reflect on the mammoth three day event and enjoy the soothing sounds of violin while watching a beautiful 20 minute scripted sand art projection. Deriving inspiration from UAE bridal traditions and customs the performance took guests on a journey that captured the history of weddings from tradition to modernity.
Flying in from Southern France for this special evening, Shine Live Band honoured guests with an international set list which served everyone’s musical palettes. The 8 piece band set the mood by opening with a Bryan Adams classic ballad followed by non-stop party hits later in the evening after the awards.
Shine Live Band are team of talented artists, putting their expertise on stage for a performance jam-packed with musical madness, innovation, energy elegance and emotion.
A crazy “fashion show” flash mob frolicked with guests before assembling on stage for a very energetic choreographed stage performance. Not your typical wedding act but it certainly kicked off the anticipated DWP Award ceremony.
The DWP Awards ceremony recognized wedding planners and suppliers globally for their excellence in all aspects of business practice acknowledging them for their working tirelessly to create a truly memorable event for their clients on their special day. The DWP ACE Awards announced 25 winners across different categories aiming to bring into the forefront and give credibility to the efforts of luxurious and memorable event planners and companies.
The evening closed with Shine Live Band who performed nothing short of an electrifying repertoire bringing together delegates from all over the world together on the dance floor united in the name of just good music!
