Havana Nights @Catch Dubai Cubache Band

After a successful season at Bagatelle Dubai, we are happy to welcome back Cubache, a 6 piece band from Havana, Cuba with key members Yuri on vocals and musical director Rey Crespo on guitar.

Be transported to the streets of Cuba as the band takes you on a cultural journey through robust salsa rhythms and afro Jazz flavor. Playing the very best authentic Cuban son, an addictive fusion of Latin and Afro rhythms that create the Buena Vista and salsa styles. The band features an influential mix of Spanish, French and Afro Cuban heritage musicians hailing from the regions of Santiago and Havana who are all passionate about maintaining the traditions of the genre.

Emulating and reviving Cuba's "musical golden age" they perform the purest form of Cuban rhythms with a mix of Buena Vista Club renditions, Afro-Cuban son, salsa, merengue, rumba, chachachá, reggaeton and bolero.

The heart of the band is led by the sensational Yuriselys on vocals. Born in Santiago de Cuba, Yuri made her singing debut at the age of 12 and has gone on to sing with some of the biggest names in the business, such as Sierra Maestra and Cachaito from the Buena Vista Social Club. She is a natural entertainer and has compared to a young Celia Cruz.

The bands musical director is the very dynamic Rey Crespo who also performs Bass Guitar, double bass and backing vocals. He hosts an array of experience both internationally and locally in Cuba and United Kingdom. Originally from Havana, Rey has worked with legends Ruben Gonzalez, Cachaito and Omara Portuondo, and he’s toured the world with bands like Ska Cubano and was the principle bass player at the famous Tropicana Cabaret in Havana.

The band has come together under the artistic and creative direction of the Managing Director of La Cle Entertainment who has a wealth of experience in music, film and art culture and a natural eye for sourcing raw international talent.

We at La Cle are super excited to be part of this project and very proud to work closely with the musicians and Catch management to produce a spectacular live show.

Havana Mondays launched on 19th September at CATCH Dubai, Fairmont hotel Sheikh Zayed, and continues for another 9 shows.
